Last year, I read part 1 of C.S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy. I’ve never thought of myself as a sci-fi person, but this one caught my attention and kept it all the way to the end.

As of late, I find myself inspired by his imagination of a world beyond this world we know. The power of imagination — it takes what exists, in all its brokenness, and re-creates it with hope and expectation. Oh to not lose our imaginations. Praise God He has begun to revive mine.

When I was a child, I wrote stories. Imaginative ones. They took me into other lives, other places, other existences for a time. Who knows the inspiration behind them, but I find myself yet again longing for another place, another existence — a world that is beyond this fallen place. I know that I will never even begin to imagine what the 2nd heaven and 2nd earth will be like — the place Jesus is going to take me to one day. But He has given me an imagination that enlivens my hope in beauty and redemption.

So I make my attempt — to enter another world, in another time and place, and rediscover what was once lost.

I hope you enjoy.
